Walnut Publication published ‘Essential Pediatrics for Office Practice’ authored by Dr. Subhransu Sekhar Mohapatra and edited by Dr. Mahesh Prasad Mohanta. Walnut Publication worked with the author to bring out a book that talks about the management of pediatric patients in private clinics or in the OPD of a hospital. The Book was released on 9th December 2023 evening, during the inauguration ceremony of Odisha State Pediatrics Conference at Rourkela. The Chief guest of the function was Labour Minister of Odisha, Sarada Prasad Nayak. Dr Piyush Gupta, Principal and Professor of Pediatrics, University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, was the Guest of Honour. Other prominent person present were Dr Nilamadhav Jena and Dr Samarendra Mahapatro, President and Secretary IAP (Indian Academy of Pediatrics) Odisha State branch, respectively. There were more than 100 prominent pediatricians of Odisha present during the release of the book.
The book garnered praise from Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak and Dr Piyush Gupta. The other senior pediatricians also had a very high opinion about the book. Nearly 300 pediatricians from Odisha attended the event. They all held the opinion that the book was the first of its kind and it will be difficult to find any such book with autobiographical articles from the real experiences of eminent pediatricians available. 63 copies were purchased by the delegates on that day. Everyone congratulated the author for bringing out a book which was much needed.
