Dr. Niraj S. Vyawahare is working as Principal and Head, Dept. of Pharmacology, Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy, Akurdi. He has 21 years of teaching and research experience at graduate, post graduated and Ph. D level. He has 90 research papers and 28 presentations to his credit out of which 03 are at international level presented in Canada (Montreal), Greece (Athens) & Thailand (Bangkok). He has delivered talks on various topics in 31 Symposia. He has total 09 books to his credit and has published two patents. He has completed 03 research projects funded by Savitribai Phule Pune University. Apart from administration and academic research, he is also extending consultation to various pharmaceutical companies in the area of preclinical screening. He is presently working as member Board of Studies (Pharmacology), Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Recently, he has been bestowed with Best Principal Award 2019 by the prestigious SPPU. For his research contribution, he has been conferred with Society “Young’s Scientist’s Award” by the Society of Science and Environment in 2006, “Sanjivani Award” in 2018, “Vidharbha Sahayog Mandal Award” in 2019 and for overall contribution he has been felicitated with Special Recognition Award by Lions Club International, Pune in 2013. He also has been awarded by the prestigious International Research Award by International Ayurveda Association for his contribution in the Preclinical Research of Indian Traditional Medicinal Plants in the 7th International Ayurveda Research Day Conference. Recently he was confered with “Indian Golden Grifon award” by Prudens Dermaceuticals for his notable contribution in the area of Pharmaceutical Education.
