Since his early days, G N Kar always chose the path less trodden. Born in 1950 into a family of teachers and academicians, he was the youngest of 6 siblings. His father Late Maheswar Kar was a primary school teacher, and his mother Late Saraswati Devi took care of the entire village with her love and affection. He pursued his B.Sc. (Ag) and started his career as a junior scientist, soon to realize his calling was somewhere else. A first-generation entrepreneur, he pioneered the growth of cashew processing industry in Odisha and brought it to world map. Even after facing multiple adversaries in life, out of sheer passion and driven with endless positive energy, he continues to contribute to the overall development of the cashew sector in advisory capacities.
