B. C. Prabhakar, a distinguished geologist, served as a Professor of Geology at Bangalore University and Gulbarga University's postgraduate center. With over 36 years of academic and research experience, he specializes in metallogeny within the Dharwar craton, focusing on the geochemistry of gold, sulfide-bearing host rocks, and their petrological evolution. Prabhakar has published numerous papers in national and international journals and has led multiple funded research projects. He has presented his work at various national and international seminars, while also guiding eight Ph.D. students. Additionally, he has authored scientific volumes and two books, with current research interests in metallogeny and the preservation of Geoheritage sites in Karnataka.
