Dr. S.R. Thilagavathy, M.Sc.,(Physics), M.Sc.,(IT), M.Phil., B.Ed., Ph.D., is presently working as Assistant Professor in Physics at Jeppiaar Engineering College, Chennai. She received her M.Sc., and M.Phil., in Physics, from University of Madras, with distinction and got first prize in M.Phil.,. She obtained her Doctorate in Crystal Growth from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in the year 2015. She is having 9 years of teaching experience in Marine Institution, 8 years of teaching experience in Engineering college and 3 years of Higher Secondary School experience.
She has “Faculty Approval Certificate” from Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Department, Government of India (2006). She also has “Training for Trainers and Assessors” from Maritime Foundation (2006).
Her current research focuses on Crystal growth and Nanotechnology.
Dr. S.R. Thilagavathy has published papers more than 15 National and International journals with high impact factor. Her H-index is 4 journal publications are indexed in SCI, WoS, SCOPUS and UGC cited indexed.
She has organised and conducted seminar and conference. She has been a session chair for ISRPM-JETR. She has been approved as a Hon. Editorial Board Member in ISRPM. She is also a member of “Indian Association of Crystal Growth” and “Indian Association of Physics Teacher”.
As a crystal grower, she has got Best Poster Presentation Award in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai and Second Prize in VIT, Vellore.
She received “Best Teacher Award” from Federation of Associations of Private Schools in TamilNadu. Also she was honoured with “Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam Award” from Marina Labs, Chennai for her Teaching Excellence in 2016. She received “Innovative Academic Science Research and Dedicated Teaching Physicist Award” from ISPRM in 2017. She also received Certificate of Achievement title “Award for Science Teaching Excellence in TamilNadu” at International Accrediting Authority (IAA) in 2018. She has received “Senior Woman Educator and Scholar Award” by NFED in 2018.
