Anamika Dey was born in Arunachal Pradesh. She schooled at Mariani in Edith Douglas School and completed her B.A (English) from Rabindra Sadan Girls' College of Karimganj, Assam and also ended M.A (History) from Assam University. She took B.ED degree from Vivekananda College of Education, Karimganj.

The author is now a Graduate Teacher of a government school.She taught in R.S Girls' College, in Kendriya Vidyalaya of Karimganj and also in an International School, Hyderabad.

She is interested in finding neglected historical events or incidences, specially of Barak Valley in Assam.
