Dr. Subhash Ahire is a distinguished Library and Information Science professional, researcher, author, and academician with over 20 years of experience in higher education. He is currently serving as Librarian at MVP’s GMD Arts, BW Commerce & Science College, Sinnar, Dist. Nashik, Maharashtra. Dr. Ahire holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science and has qualified the UGC-NET examination. His academic interests include Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in libraries, digital libraries, information literacy, reading habits, library management, and research methodology. An accomplished researcher, he has published numerous research papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals, authored two books, contributed chapters to edited volumes, and presented papers at various national and international conferences. He has also successfully completed a UGC Minor Research Project on ICT literacy among library professionals. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he has served as a faculty member for the B.Lib.I.Sc. and M.Lib.I.Sc. programmes and has been associated with Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik, as an Academic Counsellor for over a decade. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to librarianship and higher education, he received the Best College Librarian Award (Rural Area) 2022–23 from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, and the Educational ICON Award 2024. He is also a recognized Ph.D. Research Guide in Library and Information Science at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is a life member of the Indian Library Association (ILA) and the Maharashtra University and College Librarians Association (MUCLA). Through his teaching, research, publications, and professional activities, he continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of Library and Information Science and the promotion of knowledge in higher education.
