In today’s fast-paced world, many elderly individuals live in isolation, disconnected from family and often overlooked by society. This book offers a compassionate exploration of their emotional lives through the lens of social work. Drawing on fieldwork at a Pune-based old age home, the author employs social case work, group work, and geriatric counselling to support psychosocial wellbeing. Through informal, theme-based sessions, it highlights how small acts listening, memory sharing, and structured routines can foster meaningful emotional change. Combining observation with genuine human connection, the book underscores the transformative power of empathetic social work in promoting dignity and care for the ageing.
