Belonging and Beyond: The Diasporic Journey in Fiction – Rooted in Memory, Reaching Out for Belonging explores the emotional and cultural landscapes of diasporic identity through the works of British-Bangladeshi author Monica Ali. Focusing on novels such as Brick Lane, Alentejo Blue, In the Kitchen, and Untold Story, this study examines themes of migration, memory, hybridity, and transformation. It reveals how Ali’s fiction navigates the complexities of displacement and belonging, offering critical insight into the personal and political tensions that shape diasporic experiences across borders.
