This book is the result of a sincere and comprehensive exploratory study of the archaeology of Bhadrak. Though Bhadrak is a small district in northern Odisha along the Bay of Bengal, it possesses a rich archaeological heritage encompassing both religious and secular aspects. Unfortunately, the region has not yet received due attention from archaeologists, and not a single site of archaeological importance has been excavated so far. In this volume, however, all the archaeological remains of Bhadrak district have been systematically identified through extensive surveys and explorations and analyzed in relation to their historical, mythological, political, social, economic, and cultural significance. This work represents a valuable addition to the field of Odishan archaeology and aims to fulfill the long-standing need of both researchers and general readers interested in the subject.
