This book presents a comprehensive framework for social work education that blends indigenous theories, cultural traditions, and philosophical systems such as yoga, meditation, and bhakti. It highlights the need for Indianizing the social work curriculum to reflect the nation’s socio-cultural context and traces the field’s development over the past 80 years. Encompassing key theories, field practicum approaches, supervision, and evaluation methods, the book bridges theory and practice. It serves as an essential guide for students, educators, practitioners, and policymakers in social work, sociology, philosophy, and development studies, fostering culturally rooted and competent professionals equipped to address modern social challenges in India and South Asia.
